City Backpackers has been voted the best hostel in Sweden by Hostelworld every year since 2010. It occupies a 19th-century building on Upplandsgatan, five minutes' walk from Stockholm Central Station, with Gamla Stan and the main shopping streets within easy reach. The atmosphere is social and inclusive, with no curfew and 365-day opening.
Perks include free pasta in the communal kitchen, free evening sauna, free WiFi, and free ice skate hire in winter. There is also a lounge bar, courtyard, and games room. Bed linen is not included in all rates and can be hired on arrival. One of the most straightforward hostel recommendations in Stockholm for LGBTQ+ travellers.
