The Mercado District brings together food, shopping, and community events in one lively hub on Tucson’s west side. At Mercado San Agustín, small businesses line a central courtyard where locals gather for meals, coffee, and weekly markets.

Next door, the MSA Annex adds a modern twist with shops and eateries housed inside repurposed shipping containers. Highlights include La Estrella bakery, Seis Kitchen, and Stella Java coffee, alongside Agustin Kitchen for sit-down dining. With farmers’ markets, outdoor movies, and live concerts, the district is as much a social space as it is a shopping stop.

Fourth Avenue has long been Tucson’s hub for independent shops and colorful street life. Visitors can browse vintage clothing, jewelry, antiques, books, and locally made art, while the Food Conspiracy Co-Op has been serving organic and locally sourced goods since the 1970s. Alongside boutiques and thrift shops, the avenue is lined with casual cafés and some of the city’s most popular restaurants.

Twice a year, the Fourth Avenue Street Fair transforms the district with national artists, food vendors, and entertainment, drawing crowds for one of Tucson’s biggest traditions.

Old Town Artisans sits in the heart of downtown Tucson inside an adobe complex dating back to the 1800s. The space houses galleries and shops selling local crafts, jewelry, and art, all set around a shaded courtyard.

Built on the site of the original Spanish fort from 1775, the building carries centuries of history while offering a relaxed place to explore Tucson’s creative side.
